About Me
Ciao a tutti! My name is Irene Staffieri and I teach Italian as a second language. I was born in Sardinia, a wonderful Italian island which I regard as the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. From a young age, I was very curious about other languages. I studied English at school and Spanish while living in Barcelona.
I now live in Mexico, where speaking Spanish enables me to be part of the culture, and speaking English allows me to connect with Italian students from all around the world.
Learning new languages has opened many doors to me, both personally and professionally. It has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful people from other cultures and to share my culture with my students. It has also allowed me to develop my creativity and ability to adapt to new situations, and professionally to find new teaching strategies that fit students' needs and tastes.
